Job Description JOB SUMMARY Masonry Special Projects Ambassador will be primarily responsible for repairs needed throughout the Downtown District. Small concrete repairs, brick replacements, realigning existing brick sidewalks and engaging as many visitors as possible. They will be cross trained to provide both hospitality and clean team in the event extra services are needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: HOSPITALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE While performing brick and concrete repair this special project ambassador will go out of the way to actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors in order to provide directions, information, city information or recommendations.
REPORTING must be able to provide written Incident Reports and Property Condition Reports. As well, Ambassadors must provide a daily written report to document shift activities.
PROFESSIONALISM Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
BRICK AND CONCRETE SKILLS: - Must have at least two years masonry experience with concrete, brick replacement, and repairs.
- Mixes mortar; lays bricks and stones and/or concrete sidewalks; makes and repairs steps.
- Patches and/or replaces brick or cement pavers and finish corners by hand using hand trowels to spread concrete evenly.
- Smooths out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level and prepares surface ensuring all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over.
- Uses wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set.
- Uses machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets.
- Installs masonry according to specifications.
- Uses chemical additives to speed up drying process if necessary.
- Performs carpentry work incidental to masonry work.

- Must have a High School Diploma, or GED, as well as completion of a Masonry Training Program or Apprenticeship.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES - Must have the physical capacity to stand and/or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty-minute meal break).
- Must have ability to lift 50lbs.
- Must have ability to bend, stoop, kneel and squat for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
