About The Role Gravitics is looking for a
Thermal Engineer/Analyst to support the development of our vehicles. You will define, model, and predict the thermal behavior of vehicle systems and work closely with product teams to support hardware. You will directly influence the design of systems, test development and execution, and contribute across Gravitics.

Responisibilities - Create thermal models of hardware components, subsystems, and the vehicle, integrating them with appropriate fidelity
- Define and manage the schedule and budget for your work
- Create detailed analyses where needed, to understand behavior of components and systems throughout the mission life
- Develop and implement test plans and test facilities required to validate analysis results
- Work with suppliers and our manufacturing team to make your designs a reality
- Develop and document efficient build processes, work with technicians to improve instructions
Required Qualifications - Responsible involvement with hardware projects including test campaigns
- Familiarity with CAD and Analysis packages (and willingness to learn NX, Simcenter, Thermal Desktop as appropriate)
- 3+ years of industry experience in design, build, and/or testing of systems used for aerospace applications
- Understanding of components such as heaters, thermostats, MLI, thermal control coatings, heat pipes, fluid loops, temperature sensors
- Bachelor’s degree or above in an applicable field, such as aerospace or mechanical engineering
Bonus Point For - Flight heritage in prior work, or at least validation of models through testing
- Background in space system design (which is different from launch vehicle design!)
- Familiarity with CRTech/ANSYS Thermal Desktop is a major plus
- Experience testing and operating with or around hazardous systems (high pressure, high energy, hazardous gases & fluids, cryogenics etc.)
- Knowledge of engineering test standards and best practices such as SMC-S-016 and similar
- Proficiency with and willingness to learn analysis tools (SiemensSimcente orAMESim, Thermal Desktop, Python, REFPROP, Excel, Matlab, or equivalent)
- Having a design portfolio.
$105,000 - $190,000 a year
Compensation And Benefits Your level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the considerations of job-related knowledge and skills, education, and direct experience.
