Your Role: Health and Safety Manager

As our Health and Safety Manager , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the safety culture at Winter Park Resort. Your leadership will directly impact our goals for guest and employee safety. Collaborating with various leaders across departments, you will drive the success of our safety programs using data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Workers' Compensation program , including incident reviews and employee file management.
  • Enhance safety for guests and employees through hazard identification and collaboration with industry leaders.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as insurance requests and departmental expenses.
  • Create and implement initiatives based on data analysis and strategic planning.
  • Investigate and mediate claims related to property damage and guest incidents.
  • Lead and mentor the Safety Specialist and other resort staff through training and development.
  • Maintain relationships with external partners, including local health and safety organizations.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • A friendly and helpful attitude.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders to enhance safety culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a professional appearance.
  • Proficiency in computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in teaching or presenting.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: High School diploma required; degree in Safety or Health-related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Preferred experience in risk management, insurance, or emergency services; 5+ years in ski industry or resort operations is ideal.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $60,549 - $87,190 , depending on experience and qualifications. This is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes various region-specific benefits.

Physical & Working Conditions:

  • Indoor/Outdoor: Exposure to varying weather conditions is possible.
  • Noise Level: Typically moderate.
