WEB DEVELOPER

Kahala, a globally recognized leader in quick-service restaurant franchising, has an opportunity for a Web Developer to join its Interactive Marketing Team in the corporate office in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kahala franchisees and partners operate a portfolio of many QSR brands including Cold Stone Creamery, Blimpie, TacoTime and Great Steak, among others, in over 20 countries around the world.

The Interactive Department serves as a full-service, in-house social and digital marketing service team that supports the brand teams for each Kahala concept. In this role, you will be expected to develop and maintain web applications across multiple platforms and user experiences (websites, apps, blogs, ecommerce, etc.). The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work.

We are seeking an experienced accessibility consultant or developer to audit and remediate our website for ADA and WCAG 2.1 compliance. The ideal candidate will combine automated testing with manual review to ensure full accessibility and usability for all visitors.

WEB DEVELOPER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform an accessibility audit of our web sites (automated + manual testing).
• Provide a detailed report of issues, prioritized by severity (critical, moderate, minor).
• Recommend solutions for each issue, including technical and design improvements.
• Implement or guide fixes (front-end & content updates as needed).
• Verify compliance after all changes are made.

WEB DEVELOPER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

WEB DEVELOPER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• 3-6 years’ experience in web programming

• Proven experience with WCAG 2.1 AA standards (or higher).
• Familiarity with ADA compliance and Section 508 standards.
• Experience using tools such as axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, NVDA/JAWS screen readers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations.
• Bonus: IAAP certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
• Familiarity with Cascade Server CMS a plus
• Familiarity with websites built in PHP, HTML, CSS, JS
