Requisition ID: 9271 GARNEY CONSTRUCTION A Superintendent - Federal position is available at Garney Construction. To be considered for this role, you must have experience working on federal projects, be able to pass a federal background check and be available for full-time travel within the continental United States (CONUS) long term. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Garney’s Annual Incident Goal, meets or exceeds project APP, always striving and leading towards zero project incidents for Garney Employee-Owners and Subcontractor personnel, lead daily safety meetings, and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels. Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the effect of quality on all operations, and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers, and meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations. Recognize, comprehend and promote sound environmental practices to meet the needs of the local regulatory agencies and Owner, taking steps to comply with policies and rules. Always mitigating the effects of construction operations on the environment. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project, or project(s) are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule, and are staffed appropriately to meet budget, regulatory and schedule needs. Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions, and provide input with scheduling, engineering, and material control in order to make sure project objectives are met. Supervise and direct field supervisors, foreman, superintendents and other contractors to ensure contractual performance, productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment. Interface with all on-site work teams (including subcontractors) as required, to resolve problems, ensure safety, quality, environmental compliance, scheduling and achieving schedules in support of overall project objectives. Assist project management in developing and implementing project work plans and procedures, look-ahead schedules, working documents and standards to ensure project goals are achieved. Recruit, and hire qualified individuals, discharge non-qualified or non-compliant individuals to maintain high-performing teams. Mentor construction craft, supervision and engineering staff to ensure individual development and Garney Employee Owners meet their full potential. Analyze training needs and opportunities and work with senior leadership to ensure needs are being met. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR General construction experience in vertical or horizontal construction; a craft background is beneficial. 7-10 years of construction experience Full travel availability in the continental U.S. (CONUS).
