About Us:  We are an expanding private practice located in Cos Cob, New Canaan and Shelton, CT. Essential Pediatrics is committed to collaborative and personalized pediatric care.

Mission:  Fostering effective communication, promoting healthy eating routines, facilitating playtime, encouraging exploration, and everything in between.

Your Role:  As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will be an integral part of our collaborative and growing practice. Beyond 1:1 therapy, there are opportunities to use your skills in group sessions, parent coaching, blog writing, and interdisciplinary care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, feeding, and communication assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
• Provide engaging and effective speech therapy sessions to support speech, language, fluency, voice, feeding, and social communication development.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, pediatricians, and caregivers for holistic care.
• Lead parent trainings to equip families with practical strategies to support progress at home.
• Design and facilitate small group therapy sessions to encourage social communication and peer interaction.
• Document therapy sessions and progress notes in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming therapy environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• State licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or strong CFY candidate.
• Pediatric experience is preferred, but new graduates with pediatric practicum or strong interest in pediatrics are welcome.
• Experience with feeding therapy, AAC, PROMPT, DIR/Floortime, or social communication groups is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
