Job Description

Our client, a reputable construction firm, specializes in waterfront, transportation, water/wastewater, and heavy civil projects. They partner with major public agencies, including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Caltrans.

They are seeking a Field Safety Manager to drive a strong safety culture across projects spanning from Pomona to San Diego, CA. This role is 80% field-based, working closely with site crews and management to ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field audits and monitor safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA Safety Orders.
• Develop and implement job-specific safety plans.
• Assist with hazard analysis and safety preparation.
• Maintain safety documentation (AHA, JHA, Toolbox Talks).
• Provide safety reports to the Safety Director.
• Mentor subcontractors on safety practices.
• Administer IIPP and accident prevention plans.
• Conduct accident investigations.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of civil experience
• Strong knowledge of Cal OSHA regulations.
• Experience with safety audits and hazard analysis.
• Proficient in safety documentation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Ability to be onsite full-time.
• Ability to help create and review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Work Plans for both company and subcontractor work.
• Safety knowledge of excavations, fall protection, confined space, and typical construction activities.

Preference:

• CHST Certified
• OSHA 30 Construction Outreach Trainer
• HCSS Safety Platform
