RN - Oncology Clinic at Carle Health System summary:

The RN - Oncology Clinic specializes in comprehensive cancer care, utilizing a systematic nursing approach that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves advanced nursing activities such as administering chemotherapy, managing IV placements, and providing health education, while ensuring high standards of patient care. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical improvement initiatives and mentor nursing students and staff.

The Procedural Nurse II - Danville Oncology utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA);
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR),

Chemotherapy Cert within 1yr 

Education: College Diploma: Nursing (Required), Work Experience:
Responsibilities

Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include assisting with procedures using conscious sedation, placement of IV's, and administering chemotherapy drugs.

 

Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.

 

Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.

 

Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.

 

Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.

 

Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.

 

Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.

 

Accurately and safely mixes and administers chemotherapy medication.

 

Placement peripheral IV's; access/troubleshoot central lines including but not limited to Mediport

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $29per hour - $49.88per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
