Job Description

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join a fast-growing, dynamic lending team! As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in evaluating borrower financial and credit information, along with property valuations, to help make informed lending decisions. Working within established Conventional, Jumbo, and Government underwriting guidelines, you will collaborate with a dedicated production team to ensure loans are processed and closed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite and assess agency conforming, jumbo, FHA/VA residential mortgage loans.
Thoroughly verify and analyze financial documentation, ensuring loan files are complete with all necessary credit and legal documents.
Review appraisal reports for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies as needed.
Analyze applicant income and expenses, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations to confirm loan eligibility.
Perform detailed calculations, such as qualifying ratios and creditworthiness assessments, to determine risk and provide lending opinions.

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo loans.
At least 4 years of underwriting experience, with a strong understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, and non-conforming mortgages being a plus.
Familiarity with underwriting tools like Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
A solid understanding of the mortgage lending process and the ability to perform essential loan calculations (e.g., DTI, LTV).
Strong ability to prepare findings reports and handle multiple loan files at once.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on teamwork.
A proactive approach with a desire for continuous professional growth.
