The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is the medical/scientific voice of expertise for Abbott Point of Care (APOC) products and therapeutic areas. This field-based role focuses on medical & scientific engagement with APOC stakeholders. The MSL provides medical/scientific expert advice and guidance to key customers for APOC products & relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange & professional development with key thought leaders and external experts. The MSL supports the scientific credibility of APOC with established and emerging national & regional thought leaders by supporting scientific dialogue and collaboration in areas of research, scientific publications, and medical & scientific exchange, including unsolicited requests for medical information. The role involves providing scientific and medical leadership, developing and maintaining professional relationships with Global Tier 1 KOLs and academic centers, serving as a point of contact within the medical and scientific affairs team, providing training and support for safe and effective use of APOC products, delivering clinical and product training presentations, attending scientific meetings and conferences, collaborating with internal stakeholders, staffing Medical Affairs at national scientific meetings, answering clinical and scientific questions, driving publications and presentations, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, coordinating regional education and scientific symposia, and conducting medical content review. The incumbent will cover a territory consisting of multiple states with expected travel of 75%. Required qualifications include 6-10 years of clinical/medical affairs experience preferably in medical device industry, understanding of clinical laboratory and in vitro diagnostic product design, medical information or regulatory affairs experience preferred, strong communication and leadership skills, ability to work independently and in groups, and a Bachelor’s Degree required with advanced degree preferred.
