CFO Organization Internship

Xcel Energy is seeking high-performing MBA candidates to join our CFO Organization for a dynamic internship experience in Minneapolis, MN. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to launch your career with a Fortune 500 utility leader committed to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

As an intern, you'll be embedded within one of our Finance departments supporting key business units across the enterprise. You'll gain hands-on experience solving real business challenges, present strategic insights to senior leadership, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impact.

Typical intern areas of opportunity may include but are not limited to:

• Corporate Development
• Financial Planning & Analysis
• Corporate and Operating Company Finance
• Investor Relations
• Corporate Treasury

This position is for Summer 2026. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate's successful performance and Xcel's business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current first year MBA student or higher, with focus in Finance, Accounting, and/or Corporate Strategy
• Three years of professional experience
• Able to commute to the corporate office in Minneapolis, MN
• Able to work full-time during the summer in a hybrid schedule
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Current student at a top tier MBA program
• 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
• Bachelors or Advanced Degree
• Experience or Proficiency with data analytics tools

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $48.00 per hour. This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays.
