The Industrial Engineer I is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. Essential job functions include championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision and Core Values, successful completion of projects with defined goals and scope, evaluating needs, analyzing options, developing plans and managing project implementation within allotted time frames. Assists support personnel in less complex technical matters. Develops, installs and maintains optimum processes for safe manufacture of quality products using modern manufacturing methods. Develops procedures in standardized work format and provides training on new processes, tools and equipment, including workplace layout and methods using motion economy principles, ergonomics, handling devices, etc. Develops, implements and maintains equitable labor standards, adheres to procedures for delay studies and labor standards. Ensures accurate maintenance of routing and bills of material files on corporate manufacturing data management system. Implements measurement tools to assist productivity improvements. Coordinates corrections to production problems using industrial engineering problem-solving techniques and may develop alternate methods for emergency production continuation. Evaluates alternate solutions using engineering economy techniques. Demonstrates regular attendance and timeliness. Ability to work and interact well with others. Other job functions include general manufacturing engineering as necessary. Job qualifications include a Bachelor degree in engineering or related field (Industrial engineering preferred), no previous experience required but internship preferred, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, good communication, excellent organizational skills, ability to develop plans and set priorities, and ability to make timely decisions. Preferred skills include knowledge of MOST or similar work measurement system, experience in LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System. Some travel may be required.
