Job Title: Helicopter Maintenance Shop Lead

Position Summary:

Capitol Helicopters is seeking a local, full-time helicopter Maintenance Shop Lead at our McClellan CA main base. The Aircraft Maintenance Shop Lead is a hands-on leader and teacher responsible for organizing and guiding the day-to-day completion of work by the Capitol Helicopters maintenance team while maintaining hands-on involvement in accomplishing maintenance tasks. The Shop Lead also holds a key role in the Quality Assurance process, ensuring that work is accomplished and documented according to FAA regulations as well as company policies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform hands-on maintenance tasks, and provide direction for the daily activities of other maintenance personnel within the Shop Lead scope of responsibility.
• Ensure adherence to FAA and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining processes and workflows to effectively and safely facilitate the completion of work
• Proactively coordinate with DOM and Flight Operations to plan and schedule for periodic maintenance events based on aircraft hours, life-limited components, time since last inspection, etc.
• Actively participate in the training of maintenance personnel, including the development and application of training content
• Promote compliance with Capitol’s Safety Management System and ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures
• Assure that the shop/hangar facilities and vehicles are maintained in a clean, organized, and professional state
• Maintain and enforce department utilization of records and communication systems
• Ensure that Discrepancies are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
• Apply progressive discipline as needed within the department in accordance with procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and within the specific level of authority delegated by the DOM
• Perform RII, pre-cowl, and other QC inspections prior to return to service

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in helicopter A&P maintenance and repair. (Experience preferred with Bell 407, Bell 429, Bell 212, Bell 205, Bell 412, Sikorsky UH-60)
• Experience supervising others performing helicopter maintenance and repair
• Comprehensive understanding of the legal requirements of a maintenance operation under 14 CFR Part 135
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through both written and verbal interactions
• Availability to work on-site full-time at the McClellan air base (KMCC) near Sacramento, CA , and occasional travel as needed to field locations
