Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to: Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and other construction equipment. Follow project specifications and safety regulations to complete utility and site work projects efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes. Work closely with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure job site safety and efficiency. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery before and after use. Handle excavation work, trenching, grading, and backfilling as required by the project. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and union safety regulations at all times. Assist with site preparation and cleanup as needed. Qualifications Required Certifications: OSHA 30 Certification NYC DOB 40-Hour SST Certification NY State Dig 811 certification required Experience: Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a union setting. Proven ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently on commercial or government projects. Knowledge of utility and site work, including trenching, grading, and backfilling. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction specifications. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
