Financial Planning Analyst

Basic purpose of position:

• Assist in various aspects of the financial analysis process to include collecting, monitoring, and analyzing various financial and operational information.
• Assist with developing financial plans and forecasts used to provide reliable data for decision-making.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial reports & assist in the preparation of presentations.

Expectation:

To provide exceptional service to both external and internal customers by projecting a positive attitude at all times. Perform error free work while looking for ways to improve current and future processes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide FP&A support related to planning, forecasting, reporting and KPI's in a timely manner;
• Develop and maintain financial plans, models and forecasts for reporting purposes;
• Partner with other functional areas to develop KPI's, goals and business reviews; and report on these KPI's
• Dive deep into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights;
• Create presentation that provide insightful analysis for decision making;
• Identify and research variances to forecasts, plans and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement;

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, Finance is preferred.

Experience Requirements: Entry level

Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:

• Expert knowledge of general financial analysis principles;
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Strong written and verbal skills that show an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the team, management, and external parties;
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently under challenging reporting deadlines with high volume while maintaining accuracy;
• Constantly seek new ways to improve, learn, and grow;
• Must demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Ability to navigate BI tools such as Power BI or Pentaho

Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:

• Must be able to hear work or safety instructions verbally communicated in a normal speaking voice;
• Must be able to work independently;
• Ability to communicate telephonically for periods of greater than 4 hours;
• Ability to frequently view and change data on a standard computer;
• Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks;
• Able to sit for long periods up to 6 hours.
