Job Title: Design Technician Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Design Technician where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing distribution design solutions for our valued customers. This position combines field interaction with office-based design execution, offering a balanced and engaging work experience. Responsibilities + Interact with customers to determine distribution design improvement needs. + Design required work using proprietary design software based on customer interactions. + Input design requests into internal systems and oversee field completion of these projects. + Allocate approximately 40% of time to customer meetings and 60% to office-based design execution. + Utilize electrical knowledge, including understanding of transformers, electrical distribution of power, and conductors. Essential Skills + Associates Degree in engineering technology or related design degree or a high school diploma with two years of drafting experience. + Strong critical thinking skills. + Interest in working for a large utility. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous distribution design experience is advantageous. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
