Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a Full-Time Director of Event Technology to join our team in downtown Indianapolis. The Director of Event Technology is responsible for maintaining the relationship with the staff and coordinating estimates and manage billing for Markey’s events at the venue. 

This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) role. Typical daytime hours, although occasional early mornings, late nights and weekend work may be required.
Position Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a liaison between venue staff, Markey’s and event planners, ensuring effective communication, mutual respect, and a consistently positive working environment.
  2. Discuss with customer their audiovisual needs and the purpose of the event, meeting, or presentation to gain a proper understanding of their goals and objectives.
  3. Provide consultation and suggestions on the best possible applications of audiovisual equipment based on customers’ needs and budgets.
  4. Prepare quotes, track equipment and prepare/submit billing.
  5. Confer with other Consultants, Project Managers and Technicians for suggestions and ideas to determine appropriate audiovisual solutions for the customer when necessary.
  6. Arrange and actively participate in planning meetings and site inspections for select events.
  7. Provide technicians with detailed information regarding location logistics, equipment, staging, and customer contact information.
  8. Coordinate logistics (equipment, transportation, cross rentals) for select events.
  9. Act as a single point of reference for clients throughout planning process.
  10. Collaborate with Markey’s staff on event production to continually enhance overall quality of services offered. 
  11. Provide effective and prompt responses to all customer inquiries.
  12. Confer with Event Technicians to ensure that clients’ expectations are fulfilled, and review post-event status report.
  13. Prepare, review and submit invoices after the event’s completion with accurate reconciled labor and cross-rental costs within our system and the IRB billing system.
  14. Work with Managing Director of Accounts and General Manager to resolve any customer concerns or billing discrepancies.
  15. Fulfill other duties as assigned to ensure success of Markey’s events.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in audiovisual/events industry, with previous work experience as a Director of Event Technology or Event Technician preferred.
  • Ability to understand the client’s perspective, and communicate and interact positively and in a professional manner with clients, co-vendors and the Markey’s staff.
  • Above average knowledge of audiovisual equipment involving operation, set-up, and applications.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to learn R2 program.
  • Must have high attention to detail, excellent organization and ability to work within standardized processes.
  • Solid customer service skills; strong customer service background.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently, and follow directions from management.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs.
