Overview Career Development Coordinator (CDC) role at Union County Public Schools. The CDC works collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver career development services for high school students, supports special population students, and assists with CTE accountability measures. The position aligns with the North Carolina Essential Standards, National Career Development Guidelines, the National Model for School Counseling Programs, and Future Ready Students for the 21st Century. The CDC collaborates with CTE staff to plan and facilitate school and district level career exploration events and supports CTE end-of-course testing as needed. The role uses Major Clarity as a pathway planning tool and analyzes data to guide student pathway choices and career decisions. The candidate should be comfortable communicating with school administration and possess strong organization and planning skills. Duties & Responsibilities Facilitate Career Development Activities. Facilitate and support CTE testing and CTE accountability measures. Facilitate implementation of Major Clarity and Career Development Plans at their school. Identify CTE Concentrators for WorkKeys testing. Collaborate with school counselors and school admin to support CTE teacher schedules. Collaborate with EC and EL staff to support Special Population students. Support District level events such as Robotics Competitions, High School Programs Expo and Professional Development Activities. Attend District CDC meetings. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Desirable Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Must have or be able to obtain a Career Development Coordinator (CDC) License Current Continuing Professional License in a CTE program area Experience with secondary school students preferable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Job Knowledge Ability to manage instructional time.
