The Cardiac Rehab RN/Exercise Physiologist PRN at UP Health System - Portage provides specialized cardiovascular rehabilitation by planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care alongside the cardiopulmonary team. As an Exercise Physiologist or Cardiac Rehab Registered Nurse (RN), you will have a significant impact on the patients and staff that you interact with on a daily basis. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating rehabilitation patients in collaboration with the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team and being consistent with the mission of UPHS-Portage.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
• Experience and/or specialty training in cardiovascular rehabilitation and critical cardiac care.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition, risk factor modification strategies, counseling techniques and uses of educational programs and technologies as applied to cardiovascular rehabilitative services.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
Position Requirements:
For Exercise Physiologist:
Bachelor's Degree required
ACSM Exercise Specialist preferred
Or
For Registered Nurse:
Associate's Degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
State of Michigan Registered Nurse licensure required
ACLS certification required (available upon hire)
1 year of Cardiac Rehab experience preferred
Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination Required
