Posting Details Classification Information Classification Type: EHRA Position Overview Assistant Athletics Director – Annual Fund will serve as the primary major and planned gifts revenue generation officer for the North Carolina A&T State University athletics department and the Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF). The incumbent will lead in the development and implementation of long‑term strategic plans, programs, and initiatives to enhance and maintain the financial stability of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including assuming a central role in the development and execution of a capital campaign. Primary Function Of Organizational Unit The Intercollegiate Athletics Department is consistent with the mission of the University to provide an intellectual environment where students develop a sense of identification, belonging, responsibility, and achievement that prepares them for leadership and service in regional, national and global communities. The Department of Athletics provides a comprehensive program of intercollegiate competition as an integral part of the total educational experience for all students. The Intercollegiate Athletics Department embraces the principles of competitive excellence, sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and amateurism while facilitating the academic objectives of student‑athletes. Minimum Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required with related experience. Experience in development with a non‑profit or in higher education preferred. Ability to work independently and in teams, meet high goals and interact effectively with alumni, friends, faculty, and staff in a comprehensive research university setting. Willingness to travel and work weekends. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Master’s degree. Seven years or more of related experience. Skills and experience relevant to securing major gifts, which can include frontline fundraising, financial advising, and estate planning. A strategic, entrepreneurial, and innovative approach to fundraising. A knowledge of contemporary philanthropy and the vehicles available to individuals to achieve their philanthropic goals. A proven ability to self‑motivate and work both independently and collaboratively. The capacity to communicate with a wide variety of individuals and inspire them to support programming in a broad range of Athletic programs. An understanding of complex, comprehensive institutions and an appreciation for and understanding of several audiences and communities. Required License Or Certification: None specified.
