Position Summary

As an Activity Therapist, you will:

• Facilitate engaging group therapeutic activities for assigned patients.
• Assess patient needs and tailor activities to their age, development, and interests.
• Document group sessions in the medical record according to hospital requirements.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding any changes in patient status.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, families, and staff.
• Ensure patient dignity and safety at all times.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and group notes accurately and timely.
• Proactively suggest improvements and solve problems within your scope of work.
• Comply with government regulations and hospital policies.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art, Music, Dance Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensure or certification as required by the relevant accreditation body.

Experience:

• Three years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
• At least one year of experience applying activity therapy methods and techniques preferred.
